16 February Whale Dance Mixed Media Collage ACEO Trading Card Size ArtThis is an Original ACEO by Kathryn M. Pinkham of Sunrise Workshop & Gallery in Brownville, Maine. ACEO stands for Art Cards, Editions & Originals and measure the same as a standard trading card.
Title: "Whale Dance" Size: 2.5" x 3.5" (2.5 inches by 3.5 inches) Medium: Watercolor paints, watercolor paper, decorative tissue paper, blue organza ribbon, acrylic paint, micron ink & Mod Podge. Date: 2/6/08 Notes: This beautiful humpback whale is dancing among the waves. All of my collage cards are made with rupurposed papers from previous projects that I figured I would never finish. LOL This card is made from my own recycled art and tissue that my Christmas presents came wrapped in. The white wave along the top is slightly puffy, made with twisted white tissue paper, coated with Mod Podge and white acrylic paint. Some of the blue waves are made from cut organza ribbon scraps. This is a nicely textural card that can be enjoyed by all, even the blind. The Mod Podge has a scent that is disliked by some people. This scent should go away after a while. I can coat this card with UV Protectant spray upon request. This card is fully signed and dated on the back. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about this card! I just got in a new shipment of supplies. :) There's nothing more inspiring than new supplies to get my creative juices going! My newest addition to the supply addiction are Turner brand Acryl Gouache in fluorescent, blacklight responsive, intense colors. Wow, these paints POP under the blacklight. Definately the choice for One of a kind Blacklight Posters! I'm completely impressed with them. The regular Gauache can be mixed with the fluorescent white as a tinting color. I mixed regular blue with the fluorescent white and it glowed under the light as well as the full fluorescent colors. So, expect to see some original blacklight responsive artwork for sale soon! I've already started a series of underwater ACEO with fish, coral, and other brightly colored underwater creatures.
