Duckling Pastel Painting 8 x 10 inches

"Duckling"

This is an Original Pastel Painting on acid free watercolor paper, by Kathryn M. Pinkham of Sunrise Workshop & Gallery.  This sweet little ducky has new yellow baby feathers.  It's so soft looking!

Date of Creation: 3/18/08

Please note, there's a small white border on this painting, the actual size of the image is slightly smaller than 8 x 10 inches.  Contact me for more info about this work.  Visit sunriseworkshop.com for more available works.

Snow Snow Snow... Will it ever go away?

They say that March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb.  Well, so far March still has some pretty sharp teeth!  LOL  The snow is still piled higher than I stand and I can only imagine how much will still be left in April.  I woke to 10 degree weather this morning.  Of course, I know it will warm some durring the day, but probably not enough to make this nasty white stuff go away.  LOL  I usually enjoy snow.  We've just had so much of it that I'm tired of seeing it.  I'd love to see my tulips soon!  I know they're under there!  Under about 6 feet of snow.  Oh, My.  I may be later in the season by the time the sun hits actual dirt.  I can only expect a large pond to form in the back yard with all the water just waiting to melt.  I'm looking forward to working in the gardens again, but I am afraid that I'm just going to have to be patient.  For now, I'll keep painting to give my life a little color while I wait for the white to fade away.

Taking the Plunge! International shipping now available on small works!

Well, I finally broke down and got brave enough to offer international shipping on my smaller works of art.  I've been shipping within the US and Candada for years, without problems, but something about shipping works overseas has made me nervous.  I tend to worry about the work until I get my OK from the customer that all has shown up in good order.  I'm not ready to ship large works internationally, but perhaps I'll become more comfortable with the thought once I get over my silly fear that the work will get harmed along the way.

I think it's important to double box with protective wrapping, but it's almost a bit like sending your child off without you.  You spend so much time and effort on creating this lovely work and no print or other painting could ever take it's place!  Then you have to let it go.  It's going off to a new home.  Somehow, the farther away it goes, the more I worry about it's safety on the trip, just as I would if the work was a child born of my body.

For now, I'll give the small works a try.  Build some confidence in overseas shipping before I send my precious lovelies off over great waters.  I suppose that means I've got to convert my measurements to metric as well!  Tongue out
