31 August Doggie blackmail picture. My dog, standing in the corner. My dog does not realize that she is a dog and often reacts in a rather humanoid way when she is spoken to. She understands English rather well and has developed a series of poses to indicate what she wants. She's extreemely expressive! This photo was taken after she had been told she was naughty (she ripped a hole in the sliding door screen to let herself out). She went and stood at the corner of the deck! Yes, I have trained her to go to time out. LOL
Photo by Kathryn M. Pinkham ![]() A road in Maine. Stunning View!I took this picture a couple weekends ago. You'll notice the antenna in the picture, sorry about that. LOL We were on the road and I just couldn't resist capturing this one. This is a road in Maine. I'm not sure which town we were in, but I want to move there. It's just beautiful! I love the lack of poles, wires and street lights!!! And it's definately a traveled road. You'd think that you wouldn't meet many cars, but a surpising number of people use this road. I'm assuming it's because of the breathtaking views and abundance of animal life. You're likely to see moose, which we did on our way back. You're also likely to hit a moose if you aren't careful, so always be on the lookout for them when traveling the backroads of Maine.

Pretty wild clouds!Today, we got a storm advisory for a pretty major thunderstorm. There's a good chance that some places in it's path got hit with hail. The weather warned to get inside and stay away from windows. So, naturally, I went outside... LOL Here's a few shots of what I saw. The dark clouds were moving in fast and billowing down over the top of me. It looked like something out of a crazy Sci-Fi movie. One of those ones where you just know the aliens are going to fly out of the wild looking clouds. lol Some of the colors in the clouds as they passed were neat. Mostly grays, but the edge was almost pink and some looked like a greenish blue color. I stayed out until the sheets of water started. I love watching the sky! No terrific sunset tonight, but the sunrise was nice and these clouds helped make up for a lack of color.
Maine thunderstorm, August 30th, 2007. Here's the thunderhead rolling in. You can see the edge of it.
Here are the clouds moving in fast.
Pictures of the hawk that hunts in my studio yard. Here are a couple pictures of the hawk that hunts in my studio yard. I feed the birds and then the hawk breaks up the party. Usually, it gets it's mark, but this time the little female sparrow dove into the garden and hid. I'm assuming the hawk thought it stunned her because it was stalking through the garden looking for her. I couldn't even see her even when I stepped about 2 feet away from her and I was looking pretty hard for her. I expected to find a broken bird, but she did fly off when I startled the hawk, taking pictures. These pictures aren't great, but I thought I'd share anyway. :) Happened about half an hour ago, which would make it about noon here. The hawk missed the lunch special... lol

The colt pictured was born to my mother's friend's horses last year. He was sooooooooo cute! I tried to capture his combination of sweet and spicy personality. I feel like he's saying something like, "What?! I'm being good!" or "Who me?" or "Got to love me! I'm the baby!"
